I started Khaana in 2017 based on a simple premise: Great marketing grows businesses, but great marketing requires a combination of brilliant creative (the art) and a data-driven, ROI focused process (the analytics). This unique perspective stems from my uncommon background which began in finance (I was even a CPA at one point early in my career) and quickly evolved into 10+ years practicing marketing at companies large and small.
Branding, Messaging, and Strategy
We believe that the first step in any successful marketing effort is to understand what you want to achieve and what you want to say. Our process begins with a deep dive into your company’s brand. What is its ethos, its strengths, its differentiators? What competitive pressures does it face and how do you want it to stand out? All of this translates into what we call a brand book: A summary of your brand, core messaging, and design elements combined with your goals and objectives, both near and long term.
Once we know what we want to say, the question becomes how and where to say it? What activities will drive your desired outcomes whether they are lead generation, online sales, brand awareness, or something else? We’ll create a comprehensive marketing strategy that will clearly define what tactics we need to employ and how we’ll measure success. (Don’t forget, analytics are as important as the art.) While we spend a great deal of time in the digital arena, we’ve also got a lot of history in traditional marketing efforts like print and events.
Execution
Once the strategy is defined, it’s time to get to work! While we’re totally comfortable with clients who only need help with the branding and strategy piece, we also have cut our teeth on implementing solutions and driving success. Whether it’s a new website to reflect the updated brand, digital ads to drive online sales, content marketing to drive the message, copywriting to communicate clearly, or online lead generation to keep the sales team busy…we can drive. Between our in-house expertise and our team of subject matter experts, we’ll make it happen.

What is Khaana?
Khaana is the Hindi word for food. When I first started Khaana Marketing, I had just left a senior marketing role at an up-and-coming food brand. My plan was to focus on the growing world of natural and specialty foods. Given my Indian-American heritage, Khaana was a great fit. But as I had hundreds of conversations with entrepreneurs and business leaders from all kinds of industries, the concept of art and analytics resonated broadly, which quickly translated into clients across a variety of industries.
Should I Stay or Should I Go?
So…when it came time to formally expand the company’s focus, I had a choice, change the name or keep it as is. After hearing great arguments on both sides I chose to keep it. It has a ring to it, and it reveals a part of the company’s history.
Besides, whether it’s fuel for our businesses, food for thought, or food for the soul…it’s all khaana, right?
